What is Floragenie?

Floragenie is an accessible, affordable web-based software program that centralizes information and encompasses all greenhouse functions. 40,000+ varieties, 70,000+ tags, 80,000+ seeds; all at the touch and control of the user. The easy to run program allows users to control production management, scheduling, reporting, procurement, inventory, traceability and costing. Floragenie organizes greenhouse operations and facilitates growth.

Work Duties

I was primarily-responsible for providing a means to tie-in data-model reading, authentication schemes and custom-made algorithms required to handle greenhouse business-logistics to our front-end application. This entailed refactoring an existing database with relational integrity, better normalization and integration into an ORM which allowed for code-based CRUD operations and extended functionality (such as transactions). The result was 120+ tables each with custom relationship. I designed a web-appication which operated to support greenhouse managers with the ability to generate forecasted-growth schedules, dictate which steps were to occur along the way and allowed users to purchase their desired product directly from any greenhouse which could support growing it. Along with a senior developer, I had a hand deep in both front-end (React) and backend API development. This project truly captured the concept of 'full-stack' development.
